12th September Update:

We've now raised over £7,000 and the donations are still trickling in.  Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, we really appreciate your support. Watch this space for details of our future fundraising efforts.

Special thanks are due to the Limbless Organisation of North East Scotland (LOONS) for their very generous donation of £5,000.  LOONS is a volunteer-run charity, who have made this contribution from their own funds because the wound-healing effects of shockwave therapy can benefit amputees as well as ulcer patients.

The grand total in the Shockwave Endowment Fund now stands at over £12,000 - almost 1/3 of the cost of the equipment needed for Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to continue offering this treatment.

This week has also seen Muriel and Donnie's 60th wedding anniversary, and the continuing success of the fundraising has just given us another reason to celebrate!

We did it! Everyone met their own personal challenges (except for Woody the dog, who had to be carried for the last mile) and six people completed the full 80 mile cycle.  We're now taking a well-earned rest, but that doesn't mean that we've stopped accepting donations - as of 12th July our fundraising total is £4500 and still rising.  There are more pictures from the day on our Facebook page.

For those who live in Alford and the surrounding area, Margaret Black has written a quiz sheet which is now available in several shops around the village, and all proceeds will be donated to this appeal.

On 8th July our fundraising total was just short of £3000 - that's 7.5% of the cost of the shockwave machine.

Bag packing at the Alford Co-Op on 19th June raised £262.50, and our sponsorship total has been going up ever since. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far, and if you haven't yet, what are you waiting for?
